Traders Point Creamery is a family-owned organic dairy farm and artisan creamery in Zionsville, Indiana. In 2003 we began with 150 acres of our grandparents’ land, a small dairy operation, and a big dream for bringing organic, 100% grassfed dairy products to the central Indiana region. Our vision is to “nourish the land that nourishes us all.” It’s why we chose to become the first USDA-certified organic dairy farm in Indiana, and why our farming practices combine time-honored techniques with the most current innovations in sustainable agriculture. It’s why we have committed to using no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, antibiotics or growth hormones, and why we package all our dairy products in glass. It’s why our herd of Brown Swiss cows roams freely in our pastures to feed on grasses, and why we love crazy things like good soil and manure. It’s why we support small local farmers by purchasing milk from other similar-sized regional 100% grassfed farms and why we host a sustainable farmers market.
Transparency is important to us. We want you to know the animals who produced your food and see the fields where they get their food. You should be able to know the sources of your menu items, and we will happily tell you at our farm-to-table Loft Restaurant. Our transparent glass packaging allows you to see the purity of the product inside and lets our yogurts, milks, and cheeses speak for themselves. You can watch us milk the 50-60 cows in our milking herd everyday. In our restaurant the large cheese cave windows displays our aging cheese wheels as they are faithfully tended by our team of artisan cheesemakers. By offering you these views into our world here on the farm, we believe it is possible to reconnect you to the land and your food, from the pasture to the plate.
From those early days of our first bottled products sold directly to customers, our production has grown considerably – and carried our vision right along with it. We now manage over 400 acres of pastureland for grazing and baling the grasses that sustain our herd of around 120 cows. We also purchase 100% grassfed milk from other regional organic farms to supplement our herd’s production. What began as our grassfed creamery producing milk, yogurt, and cheese has expanded to include an on-site farm-to-table restaurant, dairy bar, farm tours, summer camps, a farmers market, and an exclusive event space. We invite you to enjoy all that this place has to offer. Whatever the reason that brings you to us, we are glad you are here.
