Northside Nights is a two-week celebration of Indy’s northside cuisine. The Loft is excited to participate again to showcase our unique farm-to-table experience with an exclusive prix fixe menu!

Join us for this fabulous three-course dinner designed by our executive chef, Brandon Canfield:

1st Course (choose 1)
Butternut squash, pumpkin seed pesto, maple buttermilk

Greens, broccoli, blistered grapes, candied walnuts, feta, balsamic vinaigrette

Today’s farm egg, seeded loaf, bacon jam, fresh cheese curds

2nd Course (choose 1)
Braised chuck roast, malted rye, Amish creamed celery, coriander-caraway jus

Farm raised pork, parsnip-celery root puree, smoked onion sauce

Lake raised fillet, red lentils, yellow beets, horseradish cream

Mason Jar Parfait

Traders Point Creamery’s annual Oktoberfest raises money for the Traders Point Rural Historic District, a nonprofit organization that protects over 2,600 acres of green space around Eagle Creek for the enjoyment of generations to come. The fundraiser has donated over $120,000 to the Traders Point Rural Historic District, one of only three designated in Indiana.

Harvest in the Heartland Dinner
Tuesday, September 30, 2014  |  6:00pm

Join us on the garden lawn for a five-course farm-to-table meal celebrating organic, seasonal cuisine with world-renowned chef Darina Allen of the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Shanagarry, Ireland!


Gather with Darina and other guests on the garden lawn, set aglow with candlelight, for an elegant open-air dinner at communal tables under the big Indiana sky. The evening commences with wine and hors d’oeuvres at 6pm, followed by five unique courses with wine pairings. Live music will complement the experience as Darina guides guests through the meal and reflects on farm-to-table cooking.

The gifts of the land in the hands of a gifted chef…
As a beloved teacher and supporter of local foods in her native Ireland, Darina brings her skills to the Heartland for a celebration of the relationship between farm and table during harvest time. Joined by local Indianapolis chefs, Darina will craft a gourmet meal with dishes that honor the colors and flavors of fall harvest and her Irish heritage. The centerpoint of the meal is the farm’s whey-fed pork, complemented by courses showcasing the vegetables and fruits of the fall harvest. Each course will be paired with local Indiana wines.

With the help of local chefs…
To prepare and present the meal, Darina will work in concert with outstanding chefs from local Indianapolis restaurants, including James Beard award nominee Chef Regina Mehallick of R Bistro, Chef Thom England of Ivy Tech Culinary School, and Chef Brandon Canfield of The Loft Restaurant. Culinary students from the Ivy Tech Culinary School will work with these chefs to assist in dinner preparation and service. Together with Darina, this team offers unique culinary gifts and a passion for farm-to-table food.

For a good cause…
All proceeds from the event will fund a scholarship for a local Indianapolis culinary student to study at Darina’s Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland. The recipient will attend a two-week farm-to-table cooking course, gaining knowledge and experience to bring back to the Indiana food community.

In 1983 she co-founded Ballymaloe Cookery School in Shanagarry, Ireland, and remains one of its most cherished teachers. Darina also launched Ireland’s first farmers market and hosts Simply Delicious, a television cooking show beloved by viewers around the world.
